noneThe USATF New England Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet was held Sunday, June 23 at Regis College in Weston, MA. There was a great turnout for the meet this year, which saw stellar performances from local athletes.

Greater Boston Track Club (GBTC) took both the men’s and women’s open team titles. New Balance Boston and Dare 2 Dream were second and third place respectively on the men’s side. For women’s results, FAST Track came in second with New Balance Boston taking third.

In addition to the team results, there were several individual performances of note. On the men’s side, GBTC’s Nate Hunter recorded a throw of 18.49 m. in the shot put. Teammate Alex Angel completed the 400 m. race in 48.76 seconds, and in the same event, Daniel Stahelski of Western Mass Alliance came through in 49.41 seconds. Patriot Pole Vault’s Brad Lawrence cleared 5.00 m. in the pole vault and Alix Durand of Dare 2 Dream sprinted through the 200 m. race in a speedy 22.35 seconds.

The women’s results were just as impressive. In the 3,000 m. race, New Balance Boston led the way with teammates Diana Davis (1) and Sydney Fitzpatrick (2) both running 10:10. Also on the track, we had Dacia Taylor of GBTC who took the 100 m. race in 12.55 seconds. Her teammate Lisa Wilson recorded a 55.08 m. throw in the hammer.

Masters athletes came to compete as well. For instance, in the 45-49 year-old age group, we had  Christopher Simpson of Eliot Track take the men’s 800 m. race in an impressive 2:02. In the 60-64 yearold age group for men’s javelin, Edward Hearn took the win with a 47.49 m. throw. Mass Velocity teammates Diane Pomeroy and Beth Clark ran 28.06 and 28.33 respectively in the 45-49 year-old age group 200 m. race.
