All current USA Track & Field Officials are required to renew their certification for the 2009 - 2012 Olympiad. Below are the application and exams for re-certification.
Who administers the reviews?
Below is a list of officials who administer the reviews. Contact your Pat or Laurie to find out which of these reviews you need to take. Most folks will only need to complete the review for their current level of certification.
KEY
X: administered by the Association certification chair.
Y : administered by the National Master Referee Certification Subcommittee, headed by Jim Skelly.
Z: is mostly hands on testing and is administered by Mark Heckel, Jim Hume and Jim Mc Gloin.
AA: is mostly by hands on, resume, review and recommendation by David Katz, George Kleeman and Jim Flanik.
New Officials
If this is this first time you are applying as a USA Track & Field Official, then you should go to the New Association Officials Certification section and select any of the Track & Field, Long Distance Running and Cross
Country or Race Walk Rules Review. The exam will require you have a 2008 USATF Competition Rules Book. You can purchase a hardcopy version of the 2008 USATF Competition Rules by going clicking here. Or you may download the Competition Rules by clicking here.
All Other Officials
If you are already a USA Track & Field Official, then you need to complete the rules review for your desired level and discpline. For example, if, in 2008 you are certified as a National Level Track & Field official, and you want to remain a National Level Track & Field official in 2009, then you need to complete the Track & Field
Rules Review for the National Level. You do not need to take the Association Level Track & Field
Rules Review.
